Wedding,visiting and fishing

July has come and almost gone. Joe and Carlee got married in Homer and lots of people from all over attended making it a fun event. Mom and Dad rented an awesome house in Homer where we all stayed. I was able to catch up with Mom and Dad, cousins, second cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. The salmon fishing was pretty poor the week after the wedding so we did some clamming to pass the time. The fishing picked up a few days after Mom, Dad, Tom and Gina left, they didn't want to hear that. We had our first bear come by the cabin,we weren't there but by it's tracks it looks like it did a thorough job of checking the place out. Ryan and Shirley were here for over a week and did pretty good on the reds. Ryan has gold fever so we made an attempt at panning but only found ordinary rocks, you never know.

Loose ends

We tied up a few loose ends this week. The giant hole was filled, the catchment barrel's leak was fixed and it actually works, a latch and door knobs were put on the cabin, and the top bunks were put in.

Moving Day

The old outhouse was rolled to a new hole

Animals

Lots of moose and a porcupine

Kitchen, Pizza and Potatoes

We increased the kitchen by 32 square feet, one sheet of plywood, now we can stand up and sit down. Hot food has been a priority as it's been cold and rainy most of the time. Pizza made at home and warmed up on the furnace, pretty pretty good. The potato experiment is working, a few from costco cut up and put in a box. Joe told Blake about potato boxes last year and it worked good for him. I'll Keep my fingers crossed.
